The completion of the extensive waterproofing on these underground concrete walls has allowed the framing crew to begin the lower floor of this Arroyo Grande addition..

Semmes & Company, taking advantage of the clear skies, began excavating for this 1,400 square foot addition in Arroyo Grande. The home will be a place for family to continue gathering generations from now and Semmes is proud to help bring this vision to life. Watch for updates as progress continues.

These happy homeowners have moved back into their refirbished house.  The removal of a few interior walls and a reinvention of the finishes made all the difference in the comfort and elegance of this country home.

We just completed this pizza oven in the hills of Atascadero. The precast oven parts were imported from Italy by Mugniani of Watsonville. The corner block detail was inspired by the existing outdoor kitchen and the earthquake in ’92, when this particular home suddenly had an overwhelming surplus of adobe bricks. This oven also has a secret hatch so ashes may be easily scooped into the slot and dropped into the reclaimed douglas fir faced ash pan for later disposal with no ash mess.

Changing out the windows in this 1960’s North County home dramatically improves its thermal performance.  Detailed effort was taken to match the exterior trim, maintaining the craftsmen look through the upgrades. Many tax credits and rebate incentives are accessible for these types of improvements… making a rapid return on your investment a reality!

We are putting the pieces back together on this Paso Robles remodel.  There are some nice interior details in this home: notice the corbels on the arches.

You may have noticed that we are working at the Trader Joe’s complex in Templeton again. If not, you will soon see the opening of J&R Custom Meats and Sausage next to that great fish restaurant and store, Pier 46. We are working inside setting new electrical, plumbing and polishing up the floors so we can have fish and meats in the same building, just like the good old days!

We are working in association with a local timber framing contractor on this framing job. Notice the beautiful mortise and tenon work they are crafting.

Late in 2009 we completed this Gothic inspired guest home. After living in the space, the owners decided to simply add onto this structure in lieu of building a whole second home. We have started the framing and plan to have the windows installed in the next few weeks.

Taking out the interior walls and vaulting the ceiling of this Paso Robles home has allowed for the space to be completely transformed.  Check out these photos throughout the process to witness the change.
