This guest house is nearing completion and has many unique features from custom gargoyles made by the owners to being super insulated and ventilated. This house has been built entirely on power supplied by our mobile solar generator. It was designed and built knowing this is in a high fire danger zone and many innovative techniques were used to help insure this one would remain standing in the case of wild fire.

This hilltop Strawbale Home in Atascadero is now complete and the owners are enjoying indoor climates in the low 70’s when temperatures outside are exceeding 100 degrees with no air conditioning.

This project has moved indoors. We have completed the framing and are working on the rough mechanical installation. Insulation, drywall and cabinets are to come. This photo shows a rarely seen view of this second storey addition. On this vintage house there have been a number of technical issues to overcome, but all is looking great! We will post photos of lathing and some interior shots as we move on.

Concrete flatwork out back, slab set up Utilities in the roofing……………. Things are moving along well. We have set all the Glu-lams in the Main portion of the home, and sheeted them. We are now moving to installing the overlaid roof framing, ceiling utilities & exterior decks. This photo of the hanging of the Glu-lams at the central column shows some of the craftsmanship necessary to install these 1000 pound beams. Of course all the notching in the bottom of these will be filled and sanded flush, wait to see it then!

This guest house in the coastal hills of SLO County is now ready for stucco and drywall. The sprayed in foam insulation is sure to keep it warm and cozy for those chilly winter nights and cool and comfy on those warm summer days.

The airfoil inspired barn in the north county is nearing completion. The siding/roofing is being installed and interior finishes are underway. We’re looking for completion this summer.june-11-2-cropped

Wow, there is a lot of stuff that gets placed under the concrete and soil that goes into a home!! This web work is for the Coastal Rammed Earth Home and will provide gas, electric, water, fire suppression, vent ducting, telephone and much more. Now that this is in the ground we will be able to complete the roof and get the crane out of the front room!!
